Background: Growing up, Zora was definitely not the best behaved child. It wasn't just that she couldn't pay attention or stop squirming, oh no, no, no, she liked to stir up a ruckus. These actions have never been pinpointed to one specific cause, but speculations that it was spurred on by her parent's messy divorce she usually just goes along with. (Her father, whom she lived with after, never remarried.)This only got worse when she got into high school. After a "possible" trip to juvie ("why do you even want to know ? That's for my lawyers and my momma to know, and I haven't seen the women in years"), Zora realized her life was spiraling down in a way she wasn't happy with. Trying completely wipe away her past self, her persona and look completely changed. She dyed her hair--- a look she keeps to this day--- changed her style, everything changed. She even picked up trombone, which she has kept to this day.

Background: Felix was always more quiet growing up. He has a younger sister, who he was quite close with, despite their many arguments. When he got into middle school, Felix began playing the alto saxophone but soon switched to soprano at the request of his director. As he got older, Felix started to question his sexuality a bit. When he finally came out to his parents, his dad was less than pleased. His mom, more than anything, was just worried Felix would be cut out of many opportunities (she grew up in a very heteronormative, if you aren't straight, blah blah blah country. Which country, I'm not too sure yet. If you have any ideas, shoot those at me). After a while, Felix's sister came out as well, and now, Felix's dad was pissed. He yelled at Felix's mother for hours about "not raising the kids right" and threatening to send her back to her home country. Yeah. This is what inspired Felix to be a teacher; he wanted to make sure that every kid he met never had to feel like that. He was working in the school district about a year or two before Lalia. They met each other at a teacher picnic, which is also where she was invited to try playing with the band. The band did need a percussionist, after all.

Background: Reyna's childhood was quite turbulent. She was a "golden child"; I think we all know the type. Good grades, lots of extra curriculars, friends with everyone, really chipper. That isn't her though. Did people see her that way ? Yes, including her own parents. They were the ones that signed her up for dance, chess teams, guitar AND cello lessons, not her. Her parents always argued, yet refused to get a divorce. She wasn't ever allowed to look stressed or sad, despite all these events she had to do. In high school, things managed to get worse. Her mom, in her just utter intelligence and eloquence (head my sarcasm) always reminded Reyna that "just because you're in high school now, doesn't mean you know everything. Got it ?" which... that just didn't help anything. The only things her parents did that stuck with her was guitar (although she switched to bass) and bass. Well, those and extreme compulsivity (I don't want to say OCD, since I don't know enough about it).

Background: Lalia's parents moved to New Mexico just before she was born. Growing up, she spoke solely Spanish at home but didn't have too much of an issue picking up English when she went to school (although she still does have a bit of an accent). As she grew up, she had always wanted to be a teacher, since they had been so beneficial to her growing up. Besides, Lalia has always seemed to have a knack for it; she helped her parents learn English (and still does). Around the age of 20, she decided to come out to her parents. At first, this drove a wedge between them all, but in recent years, this gap has slowly closed.
